A roguelite deck-builder meets puzzle game. Place cards on a hexagonal grid, trigger chain reactions, and build the ultimate combo deck.

This is an early prototype — rough visuals, core mechanics validated. Your feedback will shape the final Steam release.

Heavily inspired by games we admire: Balatro's synergies and Into the Breach's strategic planning.


What is Cascade?

The core loop:
  1. BUILD — Place cards strategically on the hex grid
  2. EXECUTE — Watch chain reactions unfold in placement order
  3. SCORE — Reach objectives and earn credits
  4. UPGRADE — Improve your deck

We're Parallel Minds, a small indie team crafting our first game. Cascade is a browser prototype validating core mechanics before we rebuild in Unity for a full Steam release.

I love it, and love to see how its coming along, though there is a bug that if you open the settings during the "action" part, the menu appears slightly behind the cards. Also undoing while the cards are triggering causes a softlock, because I think you forgot to remove the ability to undo during that time. Other than that, I haven't seen any bugs!

definitely gonna be playing way more after the next update. I'd also like it if your clarified the dna thingy I forgot the name of to specify different card types instead of just card

Thanks! The card you’re referring to is POLYGLOT. POLYGLOT gives X points per different card type in your stack, regardless of position, and it does not count itself.

Example:

  1. STACKRAME
  2. POLYGLOT
  3. BURST
  4. HANDSHAKE
  5. FIVE STAR

→ POLYGLOT (standard) : 4 different card types, +20 pts each → +80 pts total.
